Mission Statement

The Waltham Housing Authority provides low-income families, seniors, and people with disabilities the opportunity to live in safe, decent, affordable and accessible housing. The WHA works in partnership with the City of Waltham, the Massachusetts Department of Housing & Community Development, HUD and local community organizations to support and promote the health, welfare and economic independence of WHA residents and to sustain a diverse and productive population in the Waltham Community.

Lockout Charge:
To all WHA residents, the lockout charge after-hours, weekends and holidays has been increased to $ 85.00 per occurrence.

The Leland Home Senior Housing Voucher Lottery Announcement (May 2019):
Application and Lottery Dates have been changed.  Up to 5 Leland Home Senior Living Affordable Housing Vouchers will be available for qualified applicants.  The Voucher Program is funded by the City of Waltham Community Preservation funds and administered by the Leland Home.  Applications may be abtained at The Leland Home or downloaded at www.lelandehome.org by mail, or call 781-701-8000 or downloaded at the Waltham Housing Authority website (see link below).
Application Deadline is May 24, 2019.  Lottery Date is May 31, 2019.

Congresswoman Visits the Waltham Housing Authority:
2017_Congresswoman_Visit.jpgMay 5th, 2017 - Congresswoman Katherine Clark (MA-5) visited the Waltham Housing Authority to meet with Executive Director John Gollinger and tour federally subsidized housing units. Clark and Gollinger were also joined by Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy, State Representatives Tom Stanley and John Lawn, and Waltham Housing Authority Assistant Executive Director Mark Johnson for a discussion on the agency’s efforts to help Waltham residents access affordable housing, as well as the potential implications of proposed budget cuts.

Advertisement - Fence Removal and Install
Location: 46-48 Dale Street, Waltham MA. Remove and dispose approximately 450 linear ft., 6’ high stockade fence. Install 450 linear ft. new 6’ high, premium, 1” x 4” cedar board fence with 2” x 4” pressure treated rails, 1” x 2” cap strips and 5” x 5” pressure treated posts with chamfered tops. The WHA is requiring concrete to be installed at the base of all fence post. Prevailing wage rates apply.

Maintenance Foreman - Position requirements: A responsible position requiring demonstrated supervisory experience with skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled employees, in all phases of maintenance and repairs.  Trade licenses a plus.  This will include: Coordinating, monitoring and tracking work, providing detailed and specific instructions to subordinates and maintaining necessary stock of supplies and materials / Knowledge of Basic HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Landscaping, Carpentry, and Building Maintenance is required / Experience in Snow Plowing at multiple sites and have operational familiarity with Snow Removal Equipment and Procedures / Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Calendar, etc. and work order software- PHA Web desired / Must be highly organized and able to multi-task both Maintenance Personnel projects and assignments, vendors and balance a busy Schedule of Maintenance events.  A valid MA driver’s license is also required.  Open until position is filled.
